Oakland needs you!

Does trash on the sidewalks in Oakland stress you out? You're not alone! Come join the Oakland Adopt-a-Block program to help make a big difference and instill a sense of pride in the Oakland community.

Volunteers gather one Saturday per month to pick up litter along designated blocks throughout the neighborhood. You and your team can claim a block to manage all year, or you can choose a block when you arrive. Either way, you'll help make Oakland a cleaner, stronger, healthier neighborhood for everyone.

Following guidelines for COVID-19, teams may not include more than 12 people in a single cleanup event. Team members must stay six feet apart and wear face masks. We supply the necessary supplies, you just need to show up!

Join OPDC on Saturday, March 20 from 10 a.m. until 11:30 a.m. for this month’s pickup. Volunteers should meet at OPDC’s Financial Opportunity Center building (294 Semple Stree). We will provide gloves and other supplies.
