The draft Oakland Plan is now live and your comments and input are needed. Together with the plan, City Planning proposes three new base zones (Urban Center - Employment, Urban Center - Residential Mixed Use, and Residential Mixed Use) and the extension of the Inclusionary Zoning Overlay District to include Oakland.
The new base zones would affect most of Central Oakland, the Boulevard of the Allies, and the Fifth-Forbes corridor, and they include some significant changes to existing zoning. As we’ve discussed in the past (please see the links below), zoning is an essential part of the plan, and will have a lasting impact on future development in Oakland.
Please share your feedback on the Oakland Plan with DCP by May 1, 2022.
