HYBRID MEETING: in-person at 294 Semple and virtual via Zoom
Oakland has a long history as a vibrant live music center in Pittsburgh, but over the last few decades the neighborhood has lost many of its performance venues. To fill the gap, local musicians are making creative use of less-than-ideal spaces—backyards, basements, and porches—but these aren’t always safe, and this use can cause stress for neighbors.
Join a community conversation with OPDC and the City’s Office of Nighttime Economy to discuss ways to host and uplift live music in Oakland in a way that benefits all of its residents.
