Let's Talk: Mental Health

May is Mental Health Awareness Month! OPDC is teaming up with Peoples Oakland, Resolve Crisis Services, and the Peer Support & Advocacy Network (PSAN) to highlight easy-to-access mental health resources. Join our discussion on available resources, the importance of caregiver support, the voluntary (201) and involuntary (302) commitment processes, and dispelling common myths surrounding mental health.

Peoples Oakland

 Provides recovery-based comprehensive psychiatric and social rehabilitation services for Allegheny County adults. Services include Social & Recreation Services, Nutrition & Fitness Services, Employment Services, and Resource Coordination.  

Peer Support and Advocacy Network

A consumer-run non-profit organization that offers peer support to individuals with mental illness through a variety of programs. Services include connecting with a certified peer specialist via phone or in-person visits, drop-in visits, and general mental health support.

Resolve Crisis Services

A mental health crisis intervention organization for all residents of Allegheny County. Services include crisis counseling and support, a 24-hour hotline, appointment-free drop-ins, mobile crisis support, referrals, and other intervention services.
