UPMC supports the Oakland Community Land Trust

We are pleased to announce that UPMC has committed to support the Oakland Community Land Trust! UPMC will provide a $500,000, 5-year, 0% interest loan of working capital as well as a $40,000 grant for operating support.

“We are eager to support the Oakland CLT because we believe that what is good for the Oakland neighborhood is good for UPMC as we always strive to be a good corporate neighbor in the all of the communities we serve,” says John Innocenti, President UPMC Presbyterian Shadyside.

The Oakland Community Land Trust (CLT), a program of OPDC, is an equitable development and neighborhood stabilization strategy in Oakland’s residential neighborhoods that provides permanent, affordable homeownership opportunities for low- to moderate-income households. The CLT will protect the future viability of our diverse, unique, and historic residential neighborhoods and ensure that Oakland is healthy, safe, and vibrant for all who live or visit here.

“As a member of the Oakland Development Fund (ODF) board, I am excited to build on the CLT’s momentum and leverage OPDC’s current investments in affordable housing in Oakland,” says John Krolicki, Vice President of Facilities and Support Services from UPMC.
