The Oakland Community Land Trust is growing

In February 2018, Bob Kollar, long time Oakland resident, became the first Oakland Community Land Trust (CLT) homebuyer after purchasing a house in the Oakland Square Historical District.

“As a CMU employee, finding a home in Oakland was a huge perk,” explained Kollar. “Not only do I get to live in a neighborhood that I know and love, but I also get to enjoy a short commute to work.”

Earlier this month, Pinlei, a Pitt employee, and his wife, Jie, became the newest CLT homeowners. They purchased a home in West Oakland and are excited to raise their family in the neighborhood.

The Oakland CLT is an equitable development and neighborhood stabilization strategy to provide permanent, affordable homeownership opportunities for low- to moderate-income households. The CLT will assure the future viability of our diverse, unique, and historic residential neighborhoods and ensure that Oakland is healthy, safe, and vibrant for all who live or visit here.
