The owners of the Porch at Schenley plan structure improvements that will require approvals from the Zoning Board of Adjustment, the Historic Review Commission, and the Art Commission. Upgrades include the addition of patio roof and support beams, new sunshades, and a small greenhouse for fresh herbs and vegetables.
Updates
March 15, 2023: The developer expects construction to start in approximately a month.
The project went before the Historic Review Commission on March 2, 2022, the Art Commission on March 23, 2022, and the Zoning Board of Adjustment on June 16, 2022.
December 13, 2021: The Porch presented the project at a shared Development Activities Meeting hosted by the City of Pittsburgh Department of City Planning. They gave information about the upgrades they seek and emphasized that they would not expand the patio’s boundaries but instead cover the patio with an awning frame to increase consistent outdoor experiences. The greenhouse structure will go along Schenley Drive between the restaurant and the amphitheater, to grow fresh produce for their customers.
