In 2015, the City of Pittsburgh amended the city code to include a business license for rental units referred to as the Residential Housing Rental Permit Program. The implementation of this ordinance (Ordinance 2014-1020) has, however, been delayed for the last several years in litigation. The Department of Permits, Licenses, and Inspections (PLI) has been working with city officials to establish a process that satisfies all parties and has begun reaching out to community members to gather feedback on the current proposed Rental Registration Rules and Regulations.

South Oakland water quality: Meeting minutes
On January 9th, OPDC hosted a community meeting about water quality in the South Oakland neighborhood. Some South Oakland residents have recently learned that their water contains elevated levels of lead. We invited the Pittsburgh Water and Sewer Authority (PWSA) to talk with community members about lead contamination sources and what precautions can be taken to remedy them.
